What We Do / Our Focus

Education & Awareness

Ancestra shares heritage through exhibitions, events, and digital archives, making history alive and accessible.

Historic monument interpreted through the council's education programme

The Service

History you can touch, hear, and walk through.

A restored building that nobody visits is only half saved. Our education team turns every project into an invitation: guided walks, school workshops, craft demonstrations, evening talks, and travelling exhibitions that carry fragile originals safely to new audiences.

The digital archive extends the invitation worldwide — 40,000 documents, free forever, with learning packs for every key stage.
